Hello ARTE members,
A warm hello to all of you! Here follows a general update on Festival City Centre and also Times Square Center ARTE markets.
I apologise for the delay in sending this email. I am in Europe at the moment and the days seem to fly by. Any bookings for ARTE on 27th August have to be 'done' by 1pm tomorrow afternoon, Wednesday. Apologies.
Some numbers
· We have had a huge increase in new vendors and our database now lists more than 1600 names. All of these people have been in touch with us at some stage during the last 5 years and asked to be considered as a potential vendor showcasing their art or craft.
· The Summer ARTE Markets in Dubai Festival City have seen another marker: we have had nearly 45 new vendors featuring at these events.
· Our Facebook is also pretty healthy: last week, we had 127 monthly active users, 326 people like us, and we had 554 visits.
Aug / Sep - Summer ARTE Ramadan / Eid Markets - Dubai Festival City Centre
The quiet season must be over. It was noticeable that Dubai's Summer travellers are returning to base - the Ramadan ARTE Market last Friday showed a healthy increase in footfall.
There are two more Ramadan markets and one Eid market, before we return to Times Square Center where we will re-start our normal monthly rota.
It would be great to see you as a vendor at any of our markets. It is time for networking and prepping your clients for the merry winter season ahead of us.
27th August & 3rd September – ARTE Ramadan Markets - Dubai Festival City Centre
The location of the market is on the Mezzanine floor near Ikea and Hyperpanda.
The Ramadan Market set up at Dubai Festival City Centre is at 5pm. The market is widely advertised from 6pm till 11pm, but you can stay on till midnight if you would like to.
The fee is Dhs 125 plus an extra Dhs 100 one-off membership fee for our newcomers.
Payment needs to be dropped off at Art House Dubai Gallery on Al Wasl Road, Villa 422. Also during Ramadan, the gallery is open all day from 10am till 7pm. Closed on Fridays.
Deadline for payments is Wednesday 1pm. Please email me as well to confirm your attendance.
10th September – ARTE Eid Market - Dubai Festival City Centre
Details are same as above, but….
The set up is from 10am and the ARTE Market will continue till 10pm.
ARTE Soukh in Times Square Center
17th September - ARTE Soukh - TSC - update by Paul T.
A warm welcome back to all ARTE members who have returned from their summer holidays. We hope you are all refreshed and full of exciting new ideas for new products.
While you were away we have been busy running a weekly ARTE Market in Festival City Centre which has been very well received both by our vendors and customers alike.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen, Hayet, Stephen and Tamer for all their help in running this Market.
Facts TSC
The bookings form can be download from website http://www.arte.ae/booking.html, or email us and we will send it to you.
Please complete the form and together with the correct money, hand it into Art House Gallery, see detailed instructions and map on http://www.arte.ae/booking.html.
Set up is from 10am for the lucky draw system.
The Soukh itself is advertised from 12 noon till 7pm.
Fee is Dhs 200 per art space or craft table, plus the one-off newcomer's membership fee of Dhs 100.

Completed forms and money have to be dropped off by 1pm at the latest on Wednesdays prior to the event. Please note that any drop offs after that time will NOT be included in our table / chair / art rack requirements and we will not be able to guarantee you a place.
House Keeping
Since we are constantly looking at ways of keeping ARTE true to its roots, we have been very strict recently in making sure that all products sold at ARTE (both in Times Square and Festival City) meet our rules of being locally designed and produced in the UAE. We unfortunately have had to ban a few new vendors who were selling imported and / or low quality (cheap and cheerful) products. The feedback received from existing members has proved that we took the right decision in doing this.
For Times Square, we have decided to continue with our raffle based table allocation in all areas (including the front). There will be a few reserved tables, but these will fall under the following exceptions…
Members who have been with us since we were formed in 2005, (this is our way of saying thank you for their loyalty)
Members who are helping us in the running/admin of Arte
ARTE PR assistant required
Many of you will have heard of, or met Jan D’Sa, our Arte PR person. She is embarking on a new phase in her career and has decided to discontinue her PR role for ARTE. So we are taking this opportunity to thank her for all her hard work over the years, for and on behalf of all of you. She will still be attending markets from time to time, so please take the time to stop by and thank her in person.
This leaves us with an opportunity for anyone who is interested in taking over this role.
We are looking for someone who has had previous experience of writing PR articles, and submitting them to the local media, and who can work on under their own initiative. We are willing to discuss how this can be mutually beneficial to both parties so please send in your CV to us as soon as possible.
