Hello Artisans of the Emirates

Tomorrow we welcome you at Times Square Center for the May Soukh. Please read the following points carefully in order to avoid confusion.

At our recent market in Festival City Centre we have had an influx of commercial vendors who import their products from elsewhere and are not the artists behind the products on the table. This has caused a great unbalance within the group and with immediate effect we will not be able to give anybody a place who is not immediately behind the products they wish to sell. This means, that if you design your product but it is made outside the UAE that you are NOT able to join us at ARTE. At ARTE market and at ARTE Soukh we only permit for you to sell products that you are making or designing here in the UAE. You can have help of course, for instance if you are a photographer we do not expect you to print your print, if you are an artists we do not expect you to stretch your canvas, if you design clothes you can call in the assistance of a tailor, if you work with felt you can import your felt from elsewhere, if you make jewellery you can import your beads from elsewhere. However, the ready made products will not be showcased at ARTE. There is no re-selling at ARTE. If you are unsure about this, please email info@art.ae.

tomorrow, if you have any products that do not fit the accepted catagory of being handmade in the UAE, please be truthful and leave it in your box or case. If paul and I still have doubts about your product we may ask you to remove it from your display.

If the reminder of the ARTE rule seriously limits your display, and you would like to cancel your space for tomorrow, then email me back by return and i will refund you the cost of the table minus 75 dhs and drop this off at ART House Dubai Gallery on the Al Wasl Road.


Set up tomorrow = is from 10 am, please arrive on time, and NOT BEFORE. Paul and I need our space to set the tables, and brief our team of helpers. Enjoy a discounted coffee in Sun Cafe or buy a beverage in Caribou or any of the other outlets.

Table allocation = is done through the Lucky Draw system, draw your table number from our reception area opposite the escalator.

Racks and Easels = please note that you cannot help yourself to equipment (tables / racks / easels) unless you have booked it and paid for it. If you are not sure what you have booked and paid for, please check with our reception area near the escalator.

The Soukh closes at 7 pm, please do not leave early!

we so look forward to tomorrow, it is going to be a busy day. We have nearly 100 tables tomorrow and just less of 20 artists showing their art. Have you forwarded the ARTE poster to your address book, have you printed and hung your poster at your local notice board in school, office, building or club? will you txt your mates on your mobile and ask them to visit. Know that ARTE needs that support from you. We have done, and are doing our bit, but you need to help us by drawing arte into your community.
