ARTE in Times Square Center in January drew nearly 6000 people and many of our vendors had a good response to their beautifully handmade products. It was great to have 75 vendors displaying their fabulous work. We also continue to have a flood of new registrations, we are now near 1400 vendors on the database.

ARTE in Festival Centre at Dubai Festival City, Marina Terrace and near Toys R Us when the weather heats up, has seen the birth of a new ARTE identity. I hope you like our new corporate identity colouring for this venue, look out for the adverts in the press leading up to this event. We have also committed ourselves to a regular date during 2010: the first Friday of the Month. Plus we have started designing a purpose built stall and we hope to show a prototype at the February event.

A special note to vendors who sell imported handmade products. The ARTE Soukh in Times Square Center is only for vendors who make their own work here in the UAE. The reselling of imported items is not permitted. If you import and resell you can sign up for the ARTE Market in Festival City, but even there, your product has to be of a unique design, not available in the high street / main shopping malls, and has to be extremely well made. At Festival Centre we only have a few places available for vendors that resell imported handmade products, the focus remains on the work of the Artisans of the Emirates. If you wish your imported work to be considered for a place at Festival City then you must submit photos for our approval first.

Fee Dhs 125 for Artisans of the Emirates – vendors who make their own products here in the UAE
Dhs 250 for vendors who import their handmade products
Dhs 100 membership fee, a once off payment
Only wire grid art panels are available, no wooden easels, additional once to your allowance are rented out at Dhs 50 for a double panel
Bookings By email to info@arte.ae, not through Art House
Deadline Tuesday 2nd February, no late bookings will be accepted, bookings closed after this date
Payment On the day at the event
Cancellation 24 hrs before the event by email
No show full payment is still required through Art House Gallery.

Bookings Fill out the form attached, prepare the cash payment, take this to Art House Dubai Gallery in Jumeirah 2 on Al Wasl road

Payment Only cash payments through the gallery, no payments on the day
Cancellation 24 hours before by email
Advertising Express, 7 Days, Connector, fyi, more magazines in the pipeline, many free listings on UAE based websites, plus a steady stream of articles or ARTE vendors in Friday magazine (GN) and Aquarius magazine

· Every month we have the press visiting. Please never say no to an interview, if you are not sure, just talk to either Jan D’Sa, Paul or myself. The experience is awesome!
· Please bring receipt books. During DSF TSC have arranged for a Grand & Daily Raffle. The customer must spend collectively AED 250 to avail 1 ticket for the grand draw and 1 ticket for the daily draw, these purchase can be from any location within TSC but tickets will only be handed over to customers on proof of purchase this being a receipt that is dated, in the case of Arte where they have no registers it would have to be a hand written receipt from a numbered receipt book that is signed and stamped by the vendor
§ Sun Café continues to support ARTE Soukh with their discounted beverages. Any customers buying food of an ARTE Food vendor can take this to the Sun Café and enjoy their purchase with a freshly brewed coffee or tea at a discounted rate
§ Feline Friends are always looking for volunteers to help on their sale days. Please contact loridubai@yahoo.com if you would like to get involved
§ Color Nail Spa for mothers and daughters is a spa based in TSC and famous for its kids spa party, they offer hair braiding and girly manicures to our little princesses during ARTE
§ Art House Dubai Gallery continues to support ARTE by taking our booking forms and offering ARTE members 10% discount on framing
§ Food vendors please adhere to hygiene rules and handle your food items with gloves and wrap in appropriate packaging
§ Your focus could be on Valentine’s day – love – friendship – roses – hearts – pink – red, March is mother’s day
§ Photography – Feroz & Tamer are available to take pictures of your work for the ETSY page on the www.arte.ae website, but also for your brochures and websites. Communication – emailing our news to 1400 artisans remains an unstable activity. Please sign up to our face book pages and BlogSpot. We are doing our best to keep these up to date.

Remember – selling at the ARTE markets requires preparation, skills, patience. The ARTE team prepares the cause with great venues, guidance and a PR & Marketing programme, but you need to enjoy the process of building your own customers with a huge smile and a happy heart. Network, handout those business cards, work on your display each time, be prepared for the season (Valentine’ day in February, Mother’s day in March), and above all please do not just gauge your success by money. Look at respect, self esteem, friendship, changes and different opportunities that come your way by taking part in the ARTE markets.
